- Selection of a healthy and motivated donor is important for optimal donor safety and long term well-being
- The good results of the transplantations make the use of living donors desirable in order to meet the need for organs
- The kidney donor recovers function to 75% and the liver donor to 100%
- The donation procedure is major surgery and there is a certain risk level and associated complication rate including serious events in rare cases
- Well functioning psychosocial support and economic reimbursement systems have to be installed

LIVING DONOR SATISFACTION SURVEY

- To evaluate the donor’s satisfaction and the impact of the donation, are key issues to guarantee the quality of the procedure.
- We present a validated living donor satisfaction survey that will allow to perform a mid-term and long-term living donor follow-up exploring spheres like satisfaction with the process, quality of life and socioeconomical impact
REGISTRY MODEL DATA
- Registration of all living donor cases is obligated for the purpose of traceability, safety and transparency of activity and outcome of living donor procedures performed within all European Union member states.
